Adriana Meinert

I am a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (CBT) specializing in helping clients manage anxiety, improve life satisfaction, address stress-related challenges, and navigate issues related to infertility. My approach focuses on creating a safe, respectful, and supportive environment where we can work together to find solutions and pathways through life’s complexities. I offer consultations in both English and German.

I am a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (CBT)

I earned my psychology degree from Charles University in Prague, with part of my studies completed at Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster in Germany. During my master’s program, I provided support to fellow students at the Hybernská Counseling Center, addressing issues such as procrastination, work-life balance, and coping with financial challenges. After completing my degree, I began psychotherapy training at the International Institute of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (ODYSSEA), where I continue to deepen my expertise in CBT practices.

I am interested in psychosomatics and infertility treatment

During my internship at the psychosomatic department of MEDIAN Parkklinik Bad Rothenfelde, I gained invaluable experience in psychosomatics. Currently, I work as a psychologist at the Gynem IVF clinic, supporting clients navigating the emotional challenges of infertility treatment. I assist individuals in managing distressing thoughts and fears before treatment, as well as those transitioning from fertility treatment who seek new perspectives and renewed life satisfaction. My approach provides compassionate guidance and tailored support during these deeply personal journeys.

I combine therapy, coaching and relaxation

I have completed a coaching course with elements of Gestalt psychology, as well as a mindfulness training program. My professional approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) methods with coaching strategies and relaxation techniques, including body-focused practices. To empower clients, I provide opportunities to learn and practice relaxation and cognitive techniques at home. Incorporating homework exercises into the process enhances the effectiveness of our therapeutic work, ensuring that progress continues beyond our sessions and becomes a lasting part of daily life.

Principles of My Therapeutic Work

Collaborative Therapy Approach

My goal is to ensure that you are an active participant in our sessions, playing a central role in shaping the therapeutic process. Your active involvement allows therapy to align closely with your personal goals and progress at a pace that feels comfortable for you. This collaborative approach fosters relaxed and open environment, encouraging you to share your thoughts, insights, and ideas, ensuring that the process feels both natural and empowering.

Authentic Acceptance

Seeking therapy is a courageous decision, and I am committed to providing a secure, nonjudgmental, and respectful space where you can openly share your emotions and thoughts. I see the therapeutic relationship as a reliable anchor, offering support and stability when you need it most. This connection allows us to explore your experiences with honesty and care, creating a foundation for genuine understanding and growth.

Integrating CBT and Gestalt Approaches

I combine the principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with insights from Gestalt coaching, tailoring techniques from both disciplines to each client’s unique needs. Our sessions involve exploring inner experiences, conducting experiential exercises, and using metaphors to deepen understanding and foster internal balance. This integrative approach aims to enhance your relationship with thoughts and emotions, promoting meaningful change and lasting satisfaction in your life.

Connecting Body and Mind

In collaboration with clients, I focus on both cognitive insights and understanding thought processes. Acknowledging the profound connection between mental and physical well-being, I integrate mindfulness, self-compassion, and relaxation techniques—such as breath work, autogenic training, and progressive muscle relaxation—when clients are open to them.A brief relaxation exercise often serves as a valuable prelude to our sessions, fostering a sense of calm and readiness for deeper exploration. This holistic approach helps create balance and supports overall well-being.

Client Testimonials

"I remember the feeling when I went to our first meeting—I wasn’t even sure if my problems were significant enough to deserve professional help. The idea of discussing them with a stranger felt strange to me. All those concerns disappeared within the first 10 minutes of our session. Adriana suited me incredibly well as a person. Her demeanor was 100% professional yet so honest and human. I appreciated how she asked thoughtful questions, helped me gain insights, and introduced me to meditation techniques that I now practice regularly. Thanks to her, I feel much better."

Bára B. client
"Our session gave me the chance to look deeper into myself, understand various connections, and grasp what was happening and partly why. If I had to take away one key thing, it was the advice and tools for managing anxiety and unpleasant feelings, along with the reassurance that these conditions are not permanent and can be worked on. Working without pressure or coercion helped build my trust, and I suddenly found myself able to talk about things I would normally keep to myself."
Tereza M client
"I appreciate your individualized approach. You helped me discover my unique values and beliefs, and I always felt safe and accepted in our sessions. I realized that, to some extent, I already know myself—I know what troubles me and what causes my struggles. However, I don’t always know how to address these issues in a way that brings relief. You helped me find ways to move forward and improve my well-being."
Soňa N client

In therapy, no issue is "too small." Taking the step to schedule your first therapy appointment often requires immense courage. However, even concerns that may seem minor deserve attention and understanding. In hindsight, clients frequently find that this decision marks the beginning of a profoundly rewarding journey toward clarity, growth, and well-being.
